BUKIDNON… The Thrills at Dahilayan Adventure Park

It is almost every year that I organize an outing with my family. This time I planned for a day of adventure at Dahilayan Adventure Park. It was so timely that I also have invited a friend of mine, Meong, to come to Mindanao.

After our town fiesta in Kapatagan, we went straight to Cagayan de Oro City. I contacted a van service to take us to Dahilayan Adventure Park for a day. We commenced our journey at 8am from Cagayan de Oro. We arrived Dahilayan after an hour.

We checked-in at Dahilayan Adventure Park, rented a cabana and had our breakfast there. We arrived early with other visitors as well. After eating our breakfast, we immediately chose our activities.

Dahilayan Adventure Park offers several activities. They have the Asia’s longest dual zip line. They also have the Drop Zone to which I described as the “Angry Bird” game. Most of the adrenaline rush activities are in the Adventure Park.

I bought a ticket for all of us except for Auntie Mai-mai. Eight of us went to do the All-Zip ride: Me, Meong, Mom, Janjan, JD, Al, Kent and Auntie Vivian. Nanay Bebe, Ivyon, and Tantan joined in the other Zipline rides. It was fun riding again the ziplines though I already had tried it twice before.

We were taken by the van to the jump off area of the 840-meter Zipline across the mountain. It was a 15-minute ride from the park. Arriving there, we immediately fell in line for the adventure. Meong and I decided to go first and brought our cameras for us to take photos at the landing area. Next to us was my mom and aunt Vivian, followed by Al and JD and finally Janjan and Kent.

It is so refreshing to cruise along the pine forest of Dahilayan. What’s best with the 840-meter Zipline is, you’re like in a flying position when riding it. Your will really experience how it feels to fly and pass through trees and glide along the valleys.

When we checked with the second of the three ziplines, Ivyon, Nanay Bebe and Tantan joined us. This time, it is a sitting Zipline. While riding it, sometimes you’ll be twisted left and right or even riding it backwards. Same with the shortest Zipline.

The final landing area of the last two short Ziplines was the Ropes Course Activity. We rode all through the park near the Ropes Course. We found one courageous Grandma doing the course. It was fun hearing her laugh and shout. We’re surprised that while laughing, she had her son watching her on the ground.

We had several photo shoots at the ropes course, also at the pine trees near to it, then we proceed to the Drop Zone area.

Janjan and Kent, did the tandem Drop Zone. While I plan to do the Skytower Jump since I already have tried the Drop Zone before. I imagined myself riding the Drop Zone seeing Janjan and Kent up above the pole. I was so brave during my time riding it solo. Yet I enjoyed it a lot.

Now seeing them high above the pole, we were all excited and thrilled as to how they will feel doing it. We can’t help ourselves but shout to the thrill. That was what my friends were doing when I rode the Drop Zone two years ago.

Its lunchtime so we walked back to our cabana. My mom and I went to the restaurant and ordered additional food for our lunch. While placing the order, I found a familiar guy at my back and it was Kulas of Becoming Filipino. I had a quick conversation with him that ended up taking photos for both of us. We waited for a while for our order and when served, we went immediately to our cabana. We had a sumptuous lunch by the way.

After taking our lunch, we went quickly to the Python Ride for our last ride at the Dahilayan Adventure Park. Mom and Aunt Vivian went first did the tandem followed by me and Meong then Janjan and Kent and lastly by Al and JD.

Python is a kind of Zipline ride wherein the route was like a roller coaster ride. We went under the forest, which leads us to the landing area near the Ropes Course as well. It was a challenging ride wherein there are up and down terrains of the zipline. Twists and curves also added the thrill. It was fun.

We all ended back to the Ropes course. Lucky for us, Kulas and his group were occupying the cottage near the area. We had the opportunity of having pictures with him.

We were pressed with time because we need to be back to Cagayan de Oro by 5pm, we walked back to our cabana to fix our things. We need to visit the next park, which is the Dahilayan Forest Park. After all the thrill and adrenaline seeking adventures, we will be having a relaxing moment at the Forest Park.
