A private tour was organized for the six of us. After a quick refresh at the hotel, we’re off to our scheduled tour. Itinerary covers most part of the Northern Batan Island.
You will not really miss a moment not to look outside the window of your car because the view on every twists and turns along the winding Batanes roads is really amazing. Fortunately, we were blessed with a clear blue sky and bright sunlight despite the heavy rains in Visayas and Mindanao.
We were armed with our gadgets, dressed comfortably, and worn our smiles. We had our first stop at the Basco Welcome Arch. This is only walking distance from our hotel. From this arch, you can have a view of the Basco sea port and the Naidi Lighthouse from afar. The view is really stunning. With the spectacular view fronting the blue ocean, we can’t help ourselves but pose and click our cameras. All you can say is “WOW”!
This arch is strategically located at the ocean side of the road. We can see Basco at a distance; we can also have the view of the islands of Itbayat affront.
Feeling the breeze, you will really forget the busy metropolis and just enjoy the nature and its laid-back environment. By the way, roads of Batanes were paved. You can seldom see dirt roads maybe because the island has lesser vehicles.
After several photoshoots, we’re back to our van and headed to Tukon.
