Our lunch stop at Diura Village…
It seems we had enough of the Marlboro Country and we’re already starving. We got back to our van and started rolling down the hill to Diura Village for our lunch.
Diura village is a small fishing village of Batanes. Along the way, we passed another scenic route with the beach on the left and the hills on the right.
The houses in the village were mixed with old and new construction. When we arrived at the location, it was also at a stone house but the dining place was located on the hillside one floor up. It was a nice place with a refreshing ambiance.
Two groups are there to eat. We arrived ahead of the other group. We found the caterer was also busy preparing our sumptuous meal and we’re excited on the menu to be served to us. While waiting, we started sipping our fresh buko juice in our table.
The table was set already with fresh fruits and buko juice on the side. Another opportunity of using bread leaf as our plate, they rolled it together with our utensils. So nice that we had experienced this as in our province, only banana leaf was used, so unique of the bread leaf that it’s thick.
After a while, they started serving our food. We had beefsteak (pinoy style), grilled liempo, and fried big talakitok with sweet and sour sauce, shrimp; yellow turmeric rice and upland sticky rice… who would say not to eat. With this kind of food we had, I was tempted to use my bare hands in eating.
With hungry stomach and delicious food, we’ve finished everything. Maybe we’re preparing for the said 1 kilometer walk going to Fountain of Youth.
