I’ve known Peru because of its Nazca Lines and not Machu Picchu until a friend told me about the latter. When I traveled to Europe, I went to the Colosseo in Rome and that’s when I knew that Machu Picchu was also one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Since then, I am frequently reading blogs on how to get there.
I came across a 7-day package with Viator, I was impressed on how they have organized the trip. When I finally decided to have a trip to South America, I reviewed their itinerary. After a couple of read and re-read, I wanted to add more tours to it. I checked with tours not included in the package, unfortunately, all were of conflict to the package schedules.
I kept on reading reviews on the tour and I came across a travel agency in Peru mentioned in the review, Viajes Pacifico. I immediately searched on the internet to check if they have a website and fortunately, I found them.
I checked for their tours, almost the same with the offers at Viator. I looked for a contact and send inquiries. A customer service responded on my queries. I asked her on a 7-day package tour options and she quoted me with options on hotel and train accommodations.
Before I sent a reply, I checked also the website of the suggested hotels, with the corresponding price and I found it favorable. I plotted the individual costing on the package and I also have comparable costing if I will do it separately. It was again favorable so I decided to grab the package tour.
I asked her if it is possible to customize my trip and squeeze some additional tours that I want. I suggested add-ons and a revised itinerary were conveyed to me. I am very happy on the schedule she sent me as well as the new quoted price, again, I saved!
I wanted to add more tours, unfortunately, my schedules were full-packed, and I didn’t have any other vacancy to squeeze some tours in. When she sent me the final quotation, it was a very comprehensive tour. My 7-day stay in Peru will all be worth it.
I usually do my tours individually, since package tours do not cover other tours. Usually package tours will a lot extra day free, in which I find it an extra cost on doing nothing. What I may suggest, if you can have your tours customized, not just book directly on what was the offered package tour that will be a lot better.
It will save you a lot, it will save you money and time. You’ll be able to maximize your time especially if it’s limited.
