How I Planned My South America Trip?

When planning a trip, you must include detailed transportation schedules, may it be by land, sea or air. In my case, land transportation for my tours is already included in the package except my domestic and international flights.

It’s not that easy plotting the schedules, you must be keen in checking the exact flying schedules, the time zones and time differences. Sometimes it’s going to be confusing that’s why it’s good to list all possible schedules and just choose among them before making a reservation.

In my whole South America trip, I need to fly six times in order to complete my itinerary. I checked for air fares at different airline companies, I read some airline reviews and I also checked the airline tie-ups to other countries. In my case, I’ll be flying between Brazil and Peru so I checked with TAM Brazil and LAN Peru.

I always double check the connections of the flights since some connections are outside Brazil and Peru. Some connections are in Santiago, Chile or Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am aware that Filipinos need a visa for Argentina and Chile, so to avoid any trouble while on travel, I am very careful also with regards to visa requirements and restrictions.

To compare the prices, I tried booking on a per trip basis, then per route, or separating domestic and international flights, all these chances I simulated using the online booking system of the airline. It costs a lot. Then I tried using the multi-city options wherein I can have one booking for all my flights and believe me, it gave me half the price of my individually quoted fares. So I booked it that way.

Here’s the sample of my itinerary.
